Data controller
Komacal is responsible for the processing described on this page. For any question or request about your data: [email protected].
Data processed
- Account: username, email address, password stored only as a secure hash, and technical account dates.
- Google sign-in: Google technical identifier, name, and verified email address when you choose this sign-in method.
- Service use: anime library, progress, private notes, favorites, game scores, badges and preferences.
- Social features: public profile chosen by the user, friendships and sent messages.
- iPhone sharing: link, text, and optional image voluntarily sent from a social app to identify an anime.
- Security: sign-in sessions and technical information needed to limit abuse.
Purposes and legal bases
This data is used to provide the requested account and features, save progress, enable exchanges between members and secure the service. Processing is based on providing the requested service and, for security, on the legitimate interest in protecting Komacal and its users.
Recipients and external services
Account data is not sold. It is accessible only to the publisher and technical providers needed for hosting or verification emails. Anime data comes notably from AniList and MyAnimeList; requests are made by the server without sending the member’s identity.
If you use Google sign-in, Google authenticates your account and sends Komacal only the profile information you authorize. Komacal never receives your Google password.
When visual identification is enabled, shared content may be sent to OpenAI solely to recognize the anime. The request contains neither your username nor your email address.
Retention period
Account data is kept while the account remains active. Sessions expire no later than the duration configured by the service. A deletion request can be sent to the contact address above.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Advertisement
To fund the site, Komacal shows a few ads provided by Google AdSense, never in the games or in your library. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure these ads and, only with your consent, to personalise them.
